I love my job at Kaplan Morrell, LLC. I am presented with a new challenge every day with not only the work, but our clients too. I have met people with just about every personality you can think of and the biggest challenge is dealing with the clients. I think you need to be able to empathize with clients and the situation they are facing. Usually that situation is the root of the challenge the client presents, but very easily forgotten during the rush of the day. I have to remember that regardless of whatever challenges our clients present, we are here because of them. Seeing our clients deal with their different situations has reminded me not to take anything for granted. I think what makes me the best at my job is the work I do behind the scenes, so to speak. I am very detail oriented, anal (sometimes to an extreme), and efficient about my work. The clients benefit from that as far as the work that is getting done on their files. I am proud of the work experiences that I have cultivated over the years, especially here.
I was born in Sunnyside, Washington, to parents who were, at the time, migrant workers. At the age of 3, my family settled in the Windsor area, here in Colorado. I am the oldest of five children. My early education was in Windsor, where I graduated from Windsor High School. After high school, I went to work for Kodak Colorado Division and attended classes at AIMS Community College part time. During this time I got married and had two wonderful children. After leaving Kodak, I worked part time at several jobs and was home with my children. In 1989, I went back to school full time at AIMS Community College where I received an Office Occupations Certificate and then an Associates of Arts degree in Business Administration. Since 1991, I have held positions as a Migrant Outreach Specialist/Employment Technician for Weld County Human Resources, Homeless Case Manager at Weld Information and Referral Services, Office Manager/Legal Assistant at Esteban A. Salazar, P.C., Rooms Division Manager at The Ramkota Hotel, and Paralegal at MORRELL LAW OFFICE, LLC and THE SAWAYA LAW FIRM, which is presently KAPLAN MORRELL, LLC.
I love to cook, read, listen to music, dance, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends. My passion is my family. I love to plan family functions and holiday gatherings. Most of my family including my son, lives close by. I am going to be a grandmother, for the first time, and am very excited and looking forward to it. My granddaughter will be my new passion. I love to visit my daughter wherever she may be and I visit my dad at least twice a year.
